1. Summary of how you've been an effective learner this year.
-I have been an effective learner by joining the Fire Explorer's in West Covina. On regular Saturday's the day will be a half day, every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and not missing a day, but on the fire academy days (the last Saturday of every month) we start at 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Also, I've been more of an effective learner by taking the first lead in what our explorer advisors assign us to do. For ex: "Who's going to help me on top of the truck reeling in the 300ft hose" or "Who wants to use the S.C.B.A. equipment to feel our hard it would be to breath in an actuall fire structured building." I would raise my hand and get my captains helmet, with approval, and do the duty.
2. Cite evidence from the senior project (be specific and use examples)
My senior project has been a bigger part for me to be an effective learner due to the main fact of research checks. It has helped me more because I don't do it just to do margin noting, I choose to for the sake of my career, getting myself to be a firefighter and being successful just as I plan for my future. Also, I always need to be on top of my research because of the fact that my Captain inspects us with questions and we need to give answers.
3. What are specific ways that you can improve in this ESLR during second semester?
I will still be an effective learner by still signing and joining again with the Fire Explorer's. I will actually try to help and be like an Advisor to help out my fellow explore companions because sometimes the days can be confusing. I need to start improving on getting my projects done at school so my school grade can be profficient, and taking more pictures of the training I do on the weekends so I can show valuable evidence. I believe an effective learner at I-Poly is a responsible student always staying on task, showing improvement and showing/giving creativity individually on their own project or with a group spreading their work to others.
